I finished up reading this amazing book by Richard Bach. As much I am awed by the story, I am ever further impressed by his unique writing style and insights. Some of the things I noted are:
1. The observer funda – Richard explains something and then prints what an observer, sitting on his shoulder and taking notes would have said at that time – Rates himself and notes the reactions of the situation. An insightful way to write the conflicting parts of yours.
2. He frequently talks of things that could have happened as Alternate Future.
3. Richard writes a letter to himself – when he was 20 years younger. Wow !!
4. Touches the gate and speaks to her love lady – someday you will be touching this gate along with me.
5. Says close your eyes and think that when I open my eyes, the world that I see, the moment I live is the world that I have created. How did it happen and what led me here? Then write about it. Beautiful.
6. The only thing that shatters dreams is compromise.
7. Keep notes that capture thoughts. Turn them into stories n anecdotes. Remember n re-quote.
8. Can be a listener as well as a talker
9. Losing, in a curious way, is winning.
10. Dream lady – should complement in every manner, should have stories that you can listen forever, should listen to your stories as if it excites her to hell, you can talk to her long after the food is gone, you can listen her the whole night, may be next day. It should be mystic, mutual, and very natural. Nothing fabricated.
11. Have u ever been so happy that you could not stand it and want it to end?
12. You have money, fine. But never try to use it to buy women.

All set to Fly - Once again !!
Folks, it the time again in the year for the third consecutive time that I am all set to fly.
Again going through the troubles of packing your bags in hope to dispose old stuff and get new things at new place, leaving a cozy environment of friends and acquitance around hoping to find even better arrangements, breaking some commitments and promise I made to myself and others in aspiration to scale new heights. Each time I have take this leap - each time I have unsettled myself to break out of comfortable zone, I have gained something. I am hoping this experience turns out to be the deal closer for me in many ways !!
Rest updates from a new IP address :)))

Decision Making
Disclaimer: I generally proof read my posts. After proof reading this one, I found this little boar. Please bear it full or quit right away ;)
Of late I have been caught in myriad of choices. People who know me would not find this an unusual development. However, there is quite a difference in the options this time. As I have grown in professional and personal aspirations, and simply in my age my risks taking and diversity in various force pulling me have grown at similar if not faster pace.I don’t see much substance in discussing each of my current options here. Some even should not be made public. What I see important here is to discuss the cognitive thought process, the decision making process one goes through and in process, I hoping to find some solutions for myself.
When all the air around the subject is removed, decision making is a simple process of problem solving that you do based upon your prioritized interests, inculcated core values, and future benefits. Understandably when you are engaged in a thoughtful process to make a decision there will be several divergent yet enticing options.
I think it is paramount to first consider what interests are most important to you. For instance, you may have option to use your Friday evening in either of the two ways: Read a latest book on your favorite subject or spend the night out in theatre to watch a newly released movie. Now both the options are equally luring. Here you will make a decision based on your prioritized interests. If you are more outgoing types and have company of few friends, perhaps you will pick the movie. At the same time if you are introvert types or don’t have friends to accompany, you are likely to pick the book. In our subconscious mind we do such analysis very quickly and arrive at the decision based on our prior experiences, our personality, and indexing of events that we do in our mind.
The second factor, the inculcated core values, is quite direct. If you follow your core values you are likely to turn the gray looking things quickly into black or white. For instance, if since your childhood you have believed in honesty you are likely to return someone’s fallen 100 Rs note immediately. However, if your value system is not that strong then you may prefer savoring your favorite food or drink with that money. I think it is really very important for people to identify there core value system. A busy professional if decides that he will value work / profile over money then he is not likely to be confused when provided with several professional opportunities. Similarly if a businessman makes excellence his core value then he is not likely to compromise on the quality of product/ business he produces even though it may result in short term profits.
The third factor- future benefits is really what brings you to the decision making process at the first place. I have deliberately placed this as third factor since if placed on top it may turn you hazy over the first two factors. While the analysis of the benefits of pursuing some activity is very important, I think it more important to put the benefits in right perspective. The prospective benefits should really compliment your analysis of first two factors – Your Interests and your core values.
As we have discussed in general about decision making, its time to mention some technical and methodical ways. I read about several of the decision making techniques such as Six Thinking Hats, Grid Analysis, Pareto Analysis, Paired Comparison Analysis, Cost / Benefits Analysis. You may find these wonderful techniques here
Each of these seemed a great fun to employ and quite effective. I liked the Grid Analysis the most simply because of its comprehensive coverage, simplicity, and fun. I am going to use this option tonight to arrive at some wonderful results.
Happy Decision Making !!!

Actions Vs Reaction in a journey
It has been a while since I have posted. Life has been a roller-coaster in past few weeks, mixture of nervousness and hope, of eluding dreams and pleasant realities !! I have always strongly believed in my conviction and faith in my journey. Whether I have been able to achieve what I wanted or not is completely different. The fact of the matter is that I have pursued journey with passion beyond my own imaginations. And in pursuit, the learning and maturity has always been gigantic, to say the least.
Also, another matter of fact in life I have realized is how important it is for one to choose the parameters through which we measure success. Often we glean activities in life through lense of success vs failure. I feel there is always something else that happens, in middle of these two things. You know, they say “Almost always we do not have control over the actions that happen in life, It is the reaction that determines the character of a person”. I have been fortunate to be surrounded by some excellent people from whom I have learnt this virtue.
My conviction has always been to put my best forward for a cause and then, leaving things for GOD to make happen. If it does not, it simply is not the right time. There are better things in store or perhaps, the same thing in store in far better manner. !! Okay too much of heavy words, some more please :P !! Another important influence has been the song "Kal Ho na Ho" : A true and revolutionary way to look at life. How often we chase something badly only to realize what we missed in the journey !!
So today I start a new journey towards that eluding “better” thing, while taking a renewed look at what I already have. To reflect this newer phase, I have decided to make some major restructuring to this blog reflecting on my owned and inherited passion in life.
ohh..Will be right back, the door bell is ringing !!! Ah my Dream Girl there !!

Realization of Truth
Such has been the lethargy over the last few days or for that matter few weeks that I am unable to decide upon some specific topic to write, thanks to wonderful TCS Policies to act in watertight compartments and its "systematic" way of allocations of associates to new projects. As always, riding on more than one boat (implies more than 2 as well) I hope to enable each boat to reach its shore safely.
What this patented habit derives out of me is persistent effort making, though sometimes for too much mundane things, and continued exposure to less traversed avenues. At the same time, the anxiety and "fear of unknown" associated with these adventures make the "lesser half" of me better. It, however, sometimes feel like calling it a day, thinking it to be enough and thereafter riding alongside the direction of wing. All these thoughts seems cosy, like warm sunshine in winter, like a smile of naive child, like warmth of mother's food served right on your table.
However, all of a sudden, a thud delivered from a hidden genius, who I believe everyone has one, awakens me afresh committed to the values, dreams and aspirations I have always nurtured. While being ordinary I keep on promising myself not be ordinary. While being normal I keep on convincing myself to be someone special. My time will definitely come. It is just a matter of when, a moment, which will seek the testimony of how persistent my efforts were.
At the same time, I wonder, how many more people believe like I do. Does this state represent confusion or courage to adventure? Does it mean I am not clear or does it mean I always aspire for more? Is it necessary that to achieve something you have to loose something? I do not believe. Why cannot I retain what I have and go on achieving more. After all we all are meant to progress, to achieve. Whoever realizes this justifies his presence. Whoever do not, just continue to exist.
